Hello everybody!
(Sorry my Dutch isn´t good enough for writing but I do understand it so you can write back in Dutch)
I have a few questions concerning my (hypothetical) project of building a new W 1010.
I have been planning to buy a used one for 2 years already, but there are only around 3-4 offered every year and those I have looked at were either not in the condition or not offered for the price I found suitable.
Additionally I thought that it must be possible to make the performance of the 1010 even better by building it out of modern lightweight material.
So I came back to my lifelong dream of building a boat myself...still very fresh and I have to collect a lot more knowledge before getting started...here are my questions:

-Do you think it is possible (and makes sense) to build the hull with epoxy and wood- composites, using "duflex"/"durakore" for structural parts and "featherlight" for non-structural inner parts? (for product information, check
www.atlcomposites.com or
www.vonderlinden.de)

-Which keel design has been proven the best? (I am definitively looking for a wood or composite keel with a lead bulb) I have seen on
www.waarschip.nl under "foto´s" a 1010 with a bulb keel...is that the one that Waarschip is currently selling with the boat? I´ve also read in another thread that a Dutch designer is presently constructing a new keel for the 1010? Anybody knows more - also about the boat on those photos...looks like it was built for racing, maybe already from different materials?

-If the keel is longer and the ballast stays the same, it should be possible to make the mast higher...any experiences with that? Maybe there is a standard combination of deeper keel and higher mast already?

-For further planning, especially for estimating how much weight I could save and how much the material would cost I need the drawings - does anybody here have a copy? You know if Waarschip sells the drawings and the building instructions separately?

-Has there been any self-construction project of a 1010 (or another model) in the last few years? If my project gets more serious, I would like to make contact with somebody who built one to share experience.

-The 1010 offered at
www.trinity-sail.de looks very interesting to me; but it seems to be sold...take a look at the photo gallery, the interior layout is quite different from the original, with a proper nav seat and even what looks like a closed WC compartment with a door, next to the companionway, obviously sacrificing one berth for the purpose...
Does anybody know that ship or any other with an alternative interior layout, and who designed and built it?
Thanks for reading all the way down to here...hope I will get some answers, I´m interested in any kind information related with the 1010 and I´m sure quite a few others too...
Regards,

PS
www.fezzo.de is an interesting example with a modified 1010 with self-designed keel and "Bodensee-Rigg". A friend saw that boat in a race on the Elbe river last year...it left everybody a mile behind, all kinds of boats!
